In the Authenticity Theory, we believe and know that you create your own reality. In other words, what your life looks like now is what you have created. What your life will look like in the future is something you can know now by looking at how you act now! By the way, many Eastern spiritual traditions think the same way. They say that if you want to have an idea of your future, look at your present actions.
Everyone can sense that we hold the reins of our own reality, at least partly. Our actions ripple through our lives, creating consequences that shape our experiences. Smokers face greater health risks, obesity can lead to illness, and stress can weigh heavily on our well-being. When we engage in arguments, they often escalate, mirroring our own reactions.
Yet, the idea that we create our own reality transcends mere logic and earthly causality. This is the essence of karma—action that generates change. You possess the extraordinary ability to shape your reality. Every moment is a reflection of your choices, a canvas painted by you. Embrace the power within you; your current reality is a masterpiece born from your own actions and intentions!
You are constantly making decisions, often without even realizing it. Each choice you make reflects who you are at that very moment. These decisions are influenced by your past experiences, which are shaped by your beliefs. You place your trust in these choices, and as a result, you take action. This action forges your reality.
When you consciously align your decisions with your true preferences, and trust in those choices, and act accordingly, you actively shape your own reality. Every action based on your decision becomes a stepping stone towards the life you envision.
In the authenticity theory, you are a conscious creator. Because we are consciousness, we create our reality. Having said that, for creating a preferred reality, it is important to be aware that two functions of consciousness support you in creation. First of all, you need to be very conscious of life, or in other words, you need to shine light on yourself, on your actions, and on your reality. You need to become aware that there is a self, taking actions and experiencing realities. In a sense, it is about consciously using your senses and mind.
The second function of consciousness is the conscious perception of your reality. Consciousness is often described as a mirror. This function is about what you see in the mirror. Does that feel appropriate, or would you prefer to see something else in the mirror?
Are you truly satisfied with your current reality? Do you genuinely appreciate what you see in the mirror? Often, our discontent stems from failing to act in alignment with our true selves.
Your actions, regardless of what you say, directly reflect your deepest beliefs at the moment you take them. Examining what your actions reveal is crucial, as they are the very essence of what you create.
In the past, my actions were driven by a need to control the outcomes. I believed that my efforts could dictate results one-to-one. However, I learned that this perspective was flawed when my circumstances remained unchanged. I made a pivotal decision to act in accordance with my preferred identity. And wow, the transformation was swift and profound!
Embrace the profound truth: your consciousness molds your reality, you are a conscious creator and this process is in your control. Your control is not the circumstances, but your mindset. Conscious creation uses information from the state of your mindset. The nature of these realities hinges on your alignment with your authentic self. When your mindset is in harmony with your true essence, the reality you create is breathtaking, far surpassing your wildest dreams. Yet, when there is dissonance, you may inadvertently attract experiences you would rather avoid. The power to choose is undeniably yours.
